Carter Work Project Is Underway

May 5, 2026

Carter Work Project week is underway, and with it comes an extraordinary opportunity to witness what is possible when a community comes together to build.

All week long, volunteers, partners, supporters, and future homeowners will be working side by side at Langston Park as 24 homes move forward and a new community takes shape in southwest Atlanta. This week reflects the power of partnership, the promise of affordable homeownership, and the shared belief that everyone deserves a safe and stable place to call home.

This page also includes special messages from Senator Jon Ossoff, Senator Raphael Warnock, and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, each thanking volunteers and celebrating the work already underway.

To follow the story of the build as it happens, we invite you to read Porch Paper, our daily digital newspaper for Carter Work Project week. Each issue will include progress from the site, homebuyer stories, reflections from the week, and the culture and spirit of Atlanta that make this project so special.

Check back each day to see what has been accomplished and to follow the story of Langston Park as it continues to unfold.

Read Porch Paper daily and stay connected to the work, the families, and the community at the heart of this week.
