Elective Class Conference
These elective classes are open to all program participants and will be held in person at the Atlanta Habitat main office. Program participants will receive TRIPLE sweat equity for attending.
Our Elective Class Conference is a fun and flexible opportunity for all Atlanta Habitat program participants to come together, connect, and learn in a relaxed and engaging setting. Participants can choose from a variety of upbeat, hands-on elective classes designed to inform, inspire, and recharge, making learning feel less like a requirement and more like a celebration.Join us for dinner and a chance to win a $50 Kroger gift card! Cooking Up Culture: The Tradition of Cornbread
Join us for a hands-on cultural experience celebrating Southern and Black culinary traditions. During this class, we will explore the meaning of home through food and storytelling.
Employment Essentials: Get Hired in the New Year
This is a practical employment session focused on showing attendees how to use Indeed successfully to identify better-paying opportunities and understand what recruiters are looking for when hiring.
Grounded in Gratitude: Finding Peace in the Process
Our facilitator, Partners in Change, is a nonprofit that provides free one-on-one coaching and empowerment programs to help individuals set goals and strengthen decision-making. In this session, they will guide participants through mindfulness and gratitude practices to manage stress and find peace during their homeownership journey.
Maximize Your Personal Wealth
This class is open to all program participants and will be held online via Zoom. Program participants will receive DOUBLE sweat equity for attending.
Growing wealth can often seem complicated or even a little mysterious. After all, few people achieve wealth… so it must be very difficult to do, right? Not at all. People who achieve wealth do so because they practice the habits that lead to wealth. Learn how to practice small but solid financial habits and, over time, create the accumulation of wealth that can potentially lead to reaching millionaire status. Learn how the financial choices you make today might make a difference in the bottom line of your financial future!
Fall Homeowner Support Meeting: Best Practices for Hiring Contractors
This class is open to all program participants and will be held in person at the Atlanta Habitat main campus. Program participants will receive DOUBLE sweat equity for attending.
The Homeowner Support Meeting is a quarterly opportunity for Atlanta Habitat homeowners to connect and engage with each other, staff members, and community partners. It is also a great way for new homeowners to meet experienced homeowners, get to know each other, and learn from each other.
This quarter, we are talking about best practices for hiring contractors and avoiding scams. Dinner will be provided, and a raffle will be held at the end of the meeting.
