Carter Work Project 2026

May 3, 2025

For the first time since 1988, the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project will return to Atlanta!

From May 3-8, 2026, Atlanta Habitat will bring volunteers, partners and affordable housing advocates together to blitz build 24 new single-family houses and townhomes in just five days. This milestone event will kick off construction for Langston Park, Atlanta Habitat’s newest master planned community in the historic Sylvan Hills neighborhood in southwest Atlanta.

Langston Park neighborhood

The Langston Park development represents a bold step forward in expanding affordable homeownership. We’ll introduce modern, sustainable townhome-style living for the first time in Atlanta Habitat’s history. With easy access to MARTA, the Atlanta Beltline, and nearby green spaces, this neighborhood will help families thrive in a safe, stable and connected community.

Our selection as the host of this Habitat for Humanity global initiative coincides with the international organization's 50th anniversary as well as the FIFA World Cup in Atlanta next June. 2026 will be an exciting time for our city!
