Giving Tuesday Through a Child’s Eyes

Every year, we celebrate the holidays by asking our partners and supporters to help us share the gift of home with more Atlanta families. Our 2025 campaign, “Through a Child's Eyes," highlights the perspective of our homeowners’ children. Throughout the month of November, several of them shared their own stories about the power of homeownership.  

From siblings Mekhi and Angel who are happy to have their own bedrooms for the first time in their lives to Jazhara who spent her first Thanksgiving in a home this year, these youngsters are experiencing firsthand the impact homeownership can have on a family.

If you missed Giving Tuesday, it’s not too late to help us make a difference. So far we’ve raised $200K, and we hope you’ll help us raise even more by December 31.  

By the Numbers

For perspective, our program participants currently earn an average of $51K annually, and Atlanta Habitat constructs quality 3-4 bedroom homes with a 0% interest mortgage of ~$1,000 per month.

On average, the out-of-pocket construction cost to build each home is at least $200K for homes valued at approximately $335-$355K.

No matter how small, your donation helps offset the cost to build quality, affordable homes where generations of families can grow up and thrive.
