Restore Sales Support & Loading Dock Volunteers

Objective:

Help the ReStore operate effectively by providing general support on the sales floor and loading dock.

Background:

The ReStore is Atlanta Habitat's discount outlet store that sells new and gently used
home improvement materials, home accessories and other building supplies that have been donated by well-known, quality manufacturers and retail stores as well as builders and individuals.

The ReStore is open to the public, and its merchandise is discounted up to 75% off standard retail prices. All net proceeds support Atlanta Habitat’s mission to build affordable homes for working families.

Outline of Sales Support Volunteer Responsibilities:

Price items, stock shelves and display merchandise
Help customers find and select items
Maintain store appearance (i.e. straighten, organize and clean)
Provide superior customer service
Serve as a good ambassador for Atlanta Habitat and the ReStore

Outline of Loading Dock Volunteer Responsibilities:

Help customers load purchases into their vehicles
Unload donations and clean recently donated items
Move merchandise from the loading dock and storage out to the sales floor
Organize and arrange merchandise on the sales floor

Schedule:

Full (8:30am-4pm) and half-day shifts (8:30am-1pm or 12pm-4pm) are available Tuesdays-Saturdays.

Time Commitment:

We ask everyone who signs-up for a shift as a ReStore Volunteer to commit to working the entire shift.

Training and Support:

Volunteers review the ReStore Volunteer Training Manual immediately prior to their first shift
Volunteers receive direction and support from ReStore staff and Lead Volunteers

Qualifications:

Excellent customer service skills
Ability to multi-task & be a self-starter
Must be at least 16 years old

Getting Started:

We ask that all of our individual volunteers first come to an orientation. The volunteer orientation will provide you with an understanding of Atlanta Habitat's program, information on how to get started, and answer any questions you might have. Orientations are offered 2 – 3 times monthly on Wednesday or Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings and last approximately one hour.

Enter your join code: ORIENTATION
Input your contact information.
Follow the prompts to complete your registration.
