Applicants approved to purchase an Atlanta Habitat home enter into a one-year lease agreement.  During the one-year period, the homebuyer must meet certain requirements such as:

• timely payments,
• property care,
• fulfillment of 250 sweat equity hours, and
• attendance at 12 education classes. 

After the initial one-year lease period has ended, provided that all requirements have been met, applicants are then eligible to purchase the home through a 25 to 30 year no profit, no-interest mortgage.
