Pope Francis Challenge
Putting Faith Into Action
Atlanta Habitat for Humanity will begin construction on a home in honor of Pope Francis this December. Made possible by a generous gift from an anonymous donor, Atlanta Habitat is enthusiastic about providing an opportunity for Catholics and non-Catholics to work together in order to build a better home for a qualified family in Atlanta. Based upon three tenets, Atlanta Habitat will:
- Honor Pope Francis for his commitment to social justice and reinvigorating the Catholic Church
- Provide a unifying, celebratory opportunity for both Catholic and non-Catholic volunteers to work toward a common goal (as Pope Francis says, ‘Work confers dignity’)
- Further Habitat’s mission of building and preserving homes
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity this year to build a home in honor of Pope Francis. The faith-based community has been one of our most important and outstanding partners since Atlanta Habitat’s founding 32 years ago, and we look forward to coming together to build this home for a working family in Atlanta.” Lisa Gordon, CEO, Atlanta Habitat for Humanity.
Atlanta Habitat would like to challenge you to participate on this build! Whether you are interested in making a donation to help support the remaining cost of the build, providing lunches for a day, or would like to supply volunteers to help build on-site, we ask that you participate. All are welcome to partner on this exciting build!
