We appreciate your interest in organizing a volunteer group to support Atlanta Habitat. Below are two paths to consider in coordinating volunteer groups.
Become a House Sponsor
Every house built by Atlanta Habitat requires sponsorship support. House sponsors provide the financial underwriting and volunteers for each house. A few of the benefits of becoming a house sponsor include larger group sizes and more frequent build dates. Become a house sponsor
Organize a Non-Sponsor Group
If your group does not have the resources to sponsor a house, you can coordinate a small non-sponsor group for home building projects on Wednesdays or Saturdays.
Non-sponsor volunteer group opportunities are available as follows:
- Groups of 5 – 10 volunteers on Wednesdays (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
- Groups of up to 10 volunteers on Saturdays (7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.)
In order that this volunteer opportunity may be shared with as many groups as possible, non-sponsor groups may be limited to one build day per group/per quarter. Non-sponsor groups supplement the work of sponsoring organizations. Atlanta Habitat is, thus, unable to provide advance notice of build locations and may find it necessary to reschedule or cancel non-sponsor building opportunities.
How to Schedule a Non-Sponsor Group
View our current list of open non-sponsor group build opportunities. The schedule is updated monthly. We typically post opportunities 1-2 months in advance.
If none of the available dates work for your group, please download and submit the Non-Sponsor Group Inquiry Form to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will contact you when there are build dates available that meet your preferences.
