Resume Class/Interviewing Skills – Elective class, open to adults and high schoolers 
Saturday, Dec. 8, 9–10:30 a.m.
Elevate Your Job Search – Create your best resume, cover letter, reference list and job application. Learn how to upgrade your resume and cover letter to ensure your online job applications are competitive. Get tips on selecting a strong list of references. The instructor will discuss how employers use online systems to screen candidates. Participants who submit their resume in advance of the class will get an individual review with recommendations. The instructor is an experienced HR professional responsible for hiring at many different levels.
Intro to Homeownership – Required class, recommended within 60 days of move-in
Tuesday, Dec. 11, 7–8:30 p.m.
What are the differences between leasing and owning a home? This class captures the processes, requirements and benefits during the first year in your new home. The instructor will also review valuable information related to your home and necessary steps for closing on your mortgage.
Credit Class – Required class before move-in
Tuesday, Dec. 11, 7–9 p.m.
Find out what makes up credit, how to build and maintain good credit and why it’s important to successful homeownership.

Yoga for Busy Moms – Elective class 
Tuesday, Jan. 8, 6–7 p.m.
Yoga for Busy Moms is a one-hour beginners’ yoga workshop with a focus on learning seven traditional yoga postures to increase flexibility, stamina and strength. Breathing and relaxation techniques help ease stress and can be done anywhere, anytime. Bring a yoga mat and dress to stretch.
H.O.M.E. Room I – Required class after move-in
Saturday, Jan. 12, 9– 10:30 a.m.
Learn the basics of home maintenance. This class is designed to be taken during the first month of living in your new home. First-time participants receive a toilet auger. Class limited to 10 participants.
Conflict Resolution – Elective class

Crime Prevention – Required class before move-in
Saturday, Jan. 12, 10:45 a.m.–12:45 p.m.
Learn how to protect yourself, your family and your home. Learn how to confront neighborhood safety challenges. Class is led by a member of the Atlanta Police Department. Sign Up for Crime Prevention
Budget Class – Required class after move-in
Tuesday, Jan. 22, 7–8:30 p.m.
Learn how to evaluate your family finances, create financial goals and how to use a spending plan to keep you on track. The instructor will also review useful information related to budgeting and the financial requirements you must meet to close.
Vision. Goals. Action! (VGA)  Scholarship  I Ceremony – Open to adults and youth  
Tuesday, Jan. 15, 6–7:30 p.m.
Come watch our Winter 2019 award recipients be honored. The scholarship award ceremony, an integral part of Atlanta Habitat’s Vision. Goals. Action! Initiative, is an opportunity to hear about the honorees journey and how the scholarship will help propel Atlanta Habitat homeowners’ educational success. Where? Atlanta Habitat Headquarters, 824 Memorial Drive SE, Atlanta, GA 30316   ALL attendees nine years of age and older will receive TRIPLE SWEAT EQUITY for attending this meeting. Light refreshments will be provided from 6 to 6:30 p.m. and there will be raffles.
Energy Use in Your Home – Required class before move-in 
Saturday, Jan. 26, 9–10:30 a.m.
Having an energy-efficient house gives you an advantage when it comes to conserving energy. This class will help you to understand how your home uses energy, how you are billed for it and how to lower your bills by following a few simple steps.
Creating your Personal Health Plan – Elective class
Saturday, Jan. 26, 10:45 a.m.–12:15 p.m.
This class provides an overview of health and wellness. It will discuss healthy behaviors and explore the dimensions of health, including physical and emotional aspects. Participants will put the information received into action by creating their own personal health and wellness plan.
