Time Management & YOU - Elective Class - What works best for your lifestyle? Assess your current time management system and learn about the best way to manage your time. You will also participate in a simulation to apply concepts.

Homeowner Support Meeting #1: Networking NightAn opportunity for homeowners to connect and engage with each other, the staff, and community partners. It is a great opportunity for new program participants, homeowners in their lease year, and closed homeowners to get to know each other and share their stories.

Where? Atlanta Habitat Headquarters, 824 Memorial Drive SE. Atlanta, GA 30316

When? Homeowner Support Meetings occur once a quarter. The other meetings for 2018 are tentatively scheduled for 5/31, 8/30, 11/29.

Why should I attend? The first meeting will be a Networking Night that will be set up similar to a professional networking event. You may meet someone you want to connect with socially or professionally! We encourage your children to attend as well so they can make new friends & connections.  

 

Also, ALL attendees 9 years of age and older will receive TRIPLE SWEAT EQUITY for attending this meeting.  Dinner will be provided.

 

Everyone will walk away with a prize or raffle item. Raffles will include gas cards, 1 Amazon card, 1 Kroger card, & 1 Home Depot card.

Fire Extinguisher Safety -  Elective class - Have you ever used a fire extinguisher? Attend this hands-on class and you will get the opportunity to put out a real fire using a fire extinguisher. Class is led by a representative of the Atlanta Fire Department.

Computer Basic -  Elective class – Are you a CLOSED homeowner who is current on your mortgage and has not received a laptop/computer from Atlanta Habitat in the past five years? You are eligible to register for this class and receive a free laptop!

Exterior Maintenance -  Required class after move-in.  Discover how to keep up the exterior maintenance of your home from lawn care to pressure washing and more. This class is led by a representative from Home Depot.

Understanding Your Mortgage – Required class after move-in.   Do you understand what is included in your mortgage payment? What is involved in “closing” on your home? Atlanta Habitat’s legal department gives a detailed overview of how your mortgage is structured and outlines the legal parameters of homeownership.

Money Smart for Teens I & II - Elective Class for youth - How did you learn about the value of money? Do you want your teenager to be Money Smart? Plan on attending this Money Smart Series to help your teenager have a good financial start. Children ages 9 and up are welcome and earn sweat equity hours for the family. This maintenance class is designed for homebuyers at the end of their educational sequence, or as a maintenance refresher. Cooking Class -  Elective class -  Class seating is limited to 18 participants.
